Food and drink at the Festival
The Brighton Centre's Be Seasoned, will be providing food and drink for all delegates, speakers and exhibitors throughout the Festival. Menus are freshly made from scratch on site every day, with the aim of sourcing 80% of ingredients from within 50 miles and 90% of seasonal fruit and vegetables from the UK.
All food at the Festival will be vegetarian by default, in order to reduce the carbon footprint of the Festival. If you require meat, please state this in your registration form as a special dietary requirement.
Included in your registration
Tea and coffee will be served to all attendees during morning and afternoon breaks, and water is available at all times.
The Welcome Reception on Sunday evening is free to attend, and all are encouraged to come and socialise with friends and colleagues, new and old, over a glass of beer, wine or non-alcoholic options. Please indicate if you plan to attend on your registration form
Optional food and drink vouchers to purchase in your registration
For the first time, we are trialing the option to purchase food and drink vouchers during the registration process. This means you can include the cost of food within your registration, and simply and easily pick up food and drink during the event.
Each outlet has their own menu and lunch options, including the below menu.
- Lunchtime Option 1: Marinated mixed olives, roasted garlic & sundried tomatoes, herby potato, aubergine with thyme & garlic, falafel, hummus and pitta bread (East Café): 1 voucher
- Lunchtime Option 2: Your choice of sandwich, crisps or fruit, can of water: 1 x voucher
- Lunchtime Option 3: Burrito & can of water: 1 voucher
- Lunchtime Option 4: Pasta pot & can of water: 1 voucher
- Lunchtime Option 5: Thali plate, Vegetable curry, rice, dhal, onion bhaji, naan (East Café): 1 voucher
You will not be able to exchange your voucher for cash, nor receive cash change.
We suggest allowing 1 x food+drink voucher per day, and you can select any of the following during the registration process (prices inclusive of VAT):
- 1 x food+drink voucher - £9.90
- 2 x food+drink vouchers - £19.80
- 3 x food+drink vouchers - £29.70
- 4 x food+drinks voucher - £39.60
Food and drink available for purchase at the Festival
There will be a wide range of hot and cold food and drinks available onsite, prepared by our caterer Be Seasoned.
Catering outlets are spread throught the venue, with each outlet specialising in a different type of food (e.g. hot meals versus cold snacks) meaning you can quickly idenitify the one you want, and avoid queues building up at any one outet.
We recommend allowing around £10 a day.
Be Seasoned and sustainability
Steps that Be Seasoned are taking to improve their sustainability and
- No plastic straws onsite and no drinks sold in single use plastic bottles
- Use of wooden cutlery, palm leaf and cardboard food containers
- Cooking oil is collected and recycled
- Food waste is recycled, which then produces a high-quality compost material and a bio gas which is used as a heat source
- BeSeasoned have a bronze Food for Life certification from the Soil Association and are working towards renewing this for the next year.
- Water supplier is Life Water UK. Through the sales of water at the venue, they have built two water wells in third world country villages.
- Working with local homeless charities including Fareshare, which they donate excess produce to avoid waste.
