Don't forget that you can make significant savings on your registration fee if you are a member of, or are funded by, one of the three Festival Partners (BNA, NSI, and BSN) or any of the other 18 Partnering Organisations.  Click here for details.  If you are not yet a member, the joint cost of membership and registration may well be less than the non-member fee, so do consider joining one of the 18 fantastic societies taking part at the Festival.  

Payment by invoice 

It is possible to invoice a University directly for those wishing to pay their registration via a grant fund. To do this, registrants should select the 'bank transfer' option and then click 'submit', at the end of the registration process. They should then contact Abbey Conference & Events (, stating the details of their requested invoice including a PO number and/ or grant code, who the invoice should be made out to and the contact details. Abbey will then invoice directly as per the instructions received. 


Registration for students is heavily subsidised (less than 60% standard rate) and the earlybird member rate for students has been fixed at the same price! 

During the registration process you will be asked for evidence of your student status by uploading a Certificate of Registration or an equivalent document.  If you have any questions regarding this, please contact, +353 1 648 6130.

Refund policy

You have the right to cancel payment of a registration fee and obtain a full refund for any meeting being organised by the BNA within seven days of registering for the meeting. If you wish to cancel your registration within 7 days please contact the BNA Festival Secretariat to arrange a refund (, +353 1 648 6130).

Cancellation policy

All refunds due to cancellation incur a £10.00 administration charge.

  • If you cancel more than 60 days before the start of the meeting (i.e. up to and including 13th February 2019) you will be refunded 50% of your registration fee.
  • If you cancel 60-30 days before the start of the meeting (i.e. from the 14th February to the 15th March 2019, inclusive) you will be refunded 25% of your registration fee.
  • If you cancel fewer than 30 days before the start of the meeting (i.e. including and after the 16th March 2019) you will not be refunded, unless your request to cancel is within 7 days of having registered (see refund policy above).

Non-accepted poster abstracts: In the unlikely event that your poster abstract is not accepted for presentation, and you no longer wish to attend the festival, you may request to cancel your registration and obtain a full refund (minus £10 administration fee). Please note that the abstract handling fees are not considered part of the registration fee, and are non-refundable in all cases.

Extenuating circumstances: If you wish to discuss extenuating circumstances for cancellation which you feel should be taken into account, please contact the BNA Festival Secretariat to discuss (, +353 1 648 6130).  In the unlikely event that you are a UK citizen or UK resident and it is impossible for you to attend the Festival as a direct consequence of the UK withdrawing from the EU (‘Brexit’), then you may request to cancel your registration and obtain a full refund (minus £10 administration fee).

Decisions on such cases with extenuating circumstances are entirely at the discretion of the BNA, and will be considered on a case by case basis.
