Did you know music can significantly improve health and wellbeing at any age? Research now supports its powerful impact, including for those facing life's challenges and medical conditions.
Join us for an evening conversation with:
- Dr. Eduardo Coutinho (Applied Music Research Lab, University of Liverpool), Mrs. Phillipa Bryan and Dr. Mickey Bryan (RISE Music Education CiC) about using music composition with individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.
- Nicola Hopson, Learning Projects Manager, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, about the Liverpool Philharmonic Music and Health Programme and their partnership with the Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust. Featuring contribution from the Lead Musician from Liverpool Philharmonic’s Music and Health programme.
- This session will also feature live performances of music created during these projects, offering a unique glimpse into the creative process and its profound effects.
- The evening will be chaired by Liverpool LASER Host, Mark Roughley (LJMU)*
*LASER (Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous) Talks is an international programme of evening gatherings sponsored by Leonardo, the International Society for Arts, Sciences, and Technology (Leonardo/ISAST) that bring artists and scientists together for informal presentations and conversations on art, science and technology. Liverpool LASER Talks are organised by Mark Roughley and Prof Caroline Wilkinson, and supported by the MA Art in Science programme, which brings artists and scientists together to explore the boundaries of art-science research and practice.
